Jack Ferguson Earns Green Belt in Polymer Processing
Jack Ferguson, our Technical Sales Manager, has recently embarked on the second year of his BEng degree course in Polymer Processing at the Atlantic Technological University in Sligo (online).
Jack is sponsored by Hardie Polymers to complete this programme which was jointly developed by ATU Sligo (former IT Sligo), Athlone Institute of Technology and First Polymer Training SkillNet.
He said: “The course is proving to be an excellent grounding and all-round strong knowledge base which will enable us to further support customers across a broad range of sectors, particularly those in medical applications.
“We’re learning about new processing methods and product design, and the course content also provides the basis for a wide range of training materials that we are using to up-skill the broader team here at Hardie’s. It’s a massive benefit to the wider business”.
The Polymer Processing degree focusses on the materials, processes and tooling used in relation to polymers. Candidates completing the BEng in Polymer Processing meet the requirements of the internationally-recognised Six Sigma Green Belt Award. Candidates can attain this award in addition to their degree by passing an external Green Belt exam.
Throughout the past 100 years, Hardie’s has been supplying customers with the world’s most essential materials. As experts in engineering and high-performance polymers, we continually strive to deepen our knowledge by promoting learning and insights across our team – underpinning our aim and persistence to create solutions for every customer.
