Continuing on with introducing the Hardie Polymers team, we would like you to meet our Sales Administrator, Linda Tonner.
Linda, how long have you been at Hardies?
I have been at Hardies since 2004.
What was your background before Hardies?
I worked for Royal Institute of British Architects, in a commercial section of the Institute, providing technical libraries to architects, surveyors, local authorities, hospitals etc. I worked there for 28 years – that in itself tells you I am not one of the younger members of the Hardies team!
What are your duties at Hardies?
I process the orders sent over from the Sales Team. This involves various admin duties and liaising with our suppliers and customers. This includes placing purchase orders and creating sales order acknowledgments for our customers, before passing to Mark to arrange the transport.
When not at work what can you be found doing?
I “attempt” to keep fit by doing Zumba, Body Combat and aerobics – I say attempt!
What is your favourite form of exercise?
I love most exercise classes, with the exception of Metafit, as any time I have attempted it I have felt as if it could induce a heart attack.
What is something you learned in the last week?
That Scotland’s National Animal is the Unicorn!
If you won the lottery what is the first thing you would do?
I would make sure my family and friends (and work colleagues of course) shared in my good fortune, and give to Cancer Research and other charities close to my heart. I would get myself a new car too as mine is now 6 years old.
What is your favourite quote?
“You’re a long time dead”. I take from that, that you should live life to the full and enjoy.
