Heading up the Company since 1999, I remain actively involved with material sales to our customers across the UK. I thoroughly enjoy working within this industry and have been lucky enough to make many good friends in it over the years.
I am proud that we now have customers throughout the UK and in all the key sectors, not least Automotive, which has become the significant driver for our industry in recent years.
I have enjoyed developing our digital marketing strategy over recent years to raise our profile beyond our traditional customer base.
I am a passionate supporter of UK Manufacturing and was very proud in 2016 to be awarded a Fellowship of the Institute of Materials, Minerals & Mining : IOM3
I joined the company back in 1987 as a junior sales rep, following 8 years working in International Hotel Management in the UK, Switzerland and the United States.
It may not have been the hard-core Chemistry background that some in our industry can boast, but it certainly taught me the importance of keeping customers happy and this has stood me in pretty good stead over the years!
I have been with Hardies for 25 years, starting originally as the bookkeeper and then working my way through the other departments, haulage, purchasing and then sales.
The knowledge from working in all these different areas combined with skills I have learned from undertaking various other tasks over the years means I have an in-depth understanding of the business from the ground up.
The plastics industry, and indeed Hardie Polymers, has changed dramatically since I joined the company and the history and contacts built up over time is invaluable.
I have been very involved over the past few years with operational changes in the business but my aim is now to refocus on Sales – this is the part of my job I enjoy the most. It allows for more interaction with customers and I thrive on finding solutions to the diverse problems that keep coming my way.
I love travel and visiting new counties and my ideal scenario would be to tick off a few new countries each year.
My favourite so far has been Vietnam when I got to practice my other passion, photography. I think it has taken longer to edit the photos taken there, than the actual holiday itself took!
It is hard to believe, but it's been nearly 12 years since I married into “the polymers world.”
My main role at Hardies is to keep the customers happy by providing the materials they are looking for and if possible reducing the lead times. In order to achieve this I contact as many partners as possible from our extensive 350+ list to find the required grade.
Before Hardies I studied at the University of Economics in Krakow, Poland and then I moved to Scotland to continue my education at the University of West of Scotland. During my studies I had a few part–time customer service jobs.
I love my sports and when I’m not at work I can be found playing badminton, football, volleyball, tennis and riding my motorbike.
I'm part of the Material Sales Team here at Hardies having joined in the summer of 2017. My role involves sourcing materials, pricing, and hopefully always going the extra mile for our customers! Before I joined Hardie’s, I worked for an Industrial supplier within the internal sales team.
In my spare time I enjoy sports, watching Celtic play, live music and comedy.
I am one of the newest members of the Hardies workforce and joined the Material Sales Team in January 2018. My role entails finding required materials for our clients, and making sure they can be delivered in an acceptable timeframe. Maintaining good relationships with our customers is of paramount importance to me.
My previous position saw me working as an account manager for a green energy company, a role that required relationship building skills and a commercial eye. Both of these skills have been readily transferable into the polymer industry.
Most of my spare time is dedicated to improving my sewing skills and enjoying hiking, exploring the wilderness of Scotland with my dog Bernie !
I have been at Hardies since 2004 and my main role is to process the orders sent over from the Sales Team.
This involves various admin duties and liaising with our suppliers and customers. This includes placing purchase orders and creating sales order acknowledgments for our customers, before passing to Mark to arrange the transport.
Before Hardies (which is hard to remember now) I worked for Royal Institute of British Architects, in a commercial section of the Institute, providing technical libraries to architects, surveyors, local authorities, hospitals etc. I worked there for 28 years - that in itself tells you I am not one of the younger members of the team!
When not at work I "attempt" to keep fit by doing Zumba, Body Combat and aerobics - I say attempt!
I joined the team in September 2017 and have over 15 years administration experience, starting off as an office junior progressing to legal secretary before having a career break to start a family.
After this break I found myself in the world of stores and logistics where I gained 7 year’s experience working for a large renewable energy company as a Stores Administrator then moving on to become Order Management Assistant for the UK.
I like to be kept busy and at Hardies this is always the case. I am in constant contact with our hauliers and suppliers to ensure our customers have the most up to date information regarding their materials and deliveries.
Away from work I find I am kept equally as busy looking after my two children, attending various dance classes, football and taekwondo!
When I do manage to find some me time, I like to listen to music, especially David Bowie and ELO. I also enjoy comedy and will watch anything with Peter Kay or Kevin Bridges - I love a good laugh !
I joined Hardie Polymers in February 2018. My role is to provide admin support to all departments. This is a varied and interesting role which will enable me to gain a good understanding of the business
Before joining Hardies I spent 15 years working for a global producer and supplier of refractory products within the steel industry. I was responsible for the coordination of global customer RFQ's, which involved liaising closely with various departments within our 5 production sites. Prior to this I worked in an internal sales role within the plastics and metals distribution industry.
I have always enjoyed working in a customer focused environment and so am very pleased to have settled in well with the team at Hardies.
Outside of work I enjoy spending quality time with my family, especially my 2 beautiful grandchildren. I like spending holidays in the sun, socialising with friends and I also try to fit in the odd Zumba class !
