Ultra-high density (molecular weight) polyethylene (uHDPE or UHMW-PE) and standard high-density polyethylene (HDPE) are both polyethylene materials, but they differ in properties and applications due to their molecular structure.

Ultra-High Molecular Weight HDPE (uHDPE / UHMW-PE) (for extreme wear and friction applications)

  • Conveyor Components – Bearings, rollers, and wear strips due to low friction.
  • Gears & Machine Parts – High durability under stress and wear.
  • Bulletproof Armor – Used in ballistic-resistant panels.
  • Medical Implants – Hip and knee replacements due to biocompatibility.
  • Snow Plow Blades & Skid Plates – High impact resistance and durability.
